A stereotype is a mistaken idea or belief many people have about a thing or group that is based upon how they look on the outside, which may be untrue or only partly true.
According to the Uks director, since 1998 they have taken care to bring out a diary every year which has a fresh and meaningful theme. This time the 2020 diary is about advertising and how women have been portrayed in Pakistani advertising through the years and what kind of advertisements are printed or broadcast here.

The present study critically analyzes the phenomenon of women objectification in television advertisements in Pakistan Advertising is today an inescapable part of people’s social settings. As such it is not surprising that the medium seeks to define women in relation to men, whilst the men are defined in relation to their work, their creativity or their play. Media images have circumscribed woman's body, mind and soul to serve male goals. The commercialization of media has been largely responsible for stereotyping women and moreover it has done immense harm to the image of women within society. This article the nature and the standards of advertising regarding the portrayal of women and is based upon the findings of a six month long data collection and subsequent data analysis of 150 commercials aired over different Pakistani T.V channels. Results reveal that the advertising is affecting the women in three ways: body image, sexuality and consumer spending habits.

Women are shown promoting cooking oil, serving tea, selling beauty soap, fairness creams and shampoos. Women are featured in almost all washing powder, cooking oil, toilet cleaner and dishwashing soap advertisements as though women should be the only ones responsible for household chores like doing the laundry, cooking food, cleaning toilets and doing the dishes.
Q-Mobile ad 3 Marks
• This Q Mobile’s ad is about a girl interested in cricket. Her father does not want her to continue with it because he thinks that the sport is not for women. He believes that if her daughter continues playing, it will ruin his reputation. But instead of being quietened, the girl stands up for herself and keeps pursuing her dream. When she achieves success, and people appreciate her that is when the father realizes that he was wrong.
Gul Ahmed. Mein perfect hoon. 3 Marks
• Too fat, too slim, spots on face, slanted nose, the stereotype is that girls should hide all this because they are imperfections and girls should be perfect. This fantastic ad empowers women with those exact characteristics that they have been bashed with because it is all in the mindset. If we start believing we are perfect with our imperfections, no one will have the courage to tell us we are not. So instead of girls taking all the comments quietly as they are expected to, this ad tells us that they don’t have to.
Shan biryani masala 3 Marks
• One Biryani One Family is a Shan Ad that shows a man meeting his girl’s family for the first time. The family belongs to Punjab, and they idealize that toxic definition of masculinity. They tease the man for not being healthy, athletic, and being emotional. But events take such a turn that he offers to cook for them. The idea that a man offers to cook showed the ad denouncing that cooking is a woman’s responsibility.

Intrapersonal communication is a communicator's internal use of language or thought. It can be useful to envision intrapersonal communication occurring in the mind of the individual in a model which contains a sender, receiver, and feedback loop.
Role of intra personal communication in our life:
Intrapersonal communication can also be understood as self-talk. Self- talk is recognized as the verbal side of thinking. There is indeed a positive side of self-talk. Self-talk, also recognized as self-dialogue or inner speech, is what you say to yourself during your waking hours. One cannot really communicate effectively with the outside world, unless one masters the art of communicating effectively with oneself. In that sense, intrapersonal communication is a necessary precondition for effective interpersonal communication. Good communication depends upon positive outlook. Self-talk prepares the ground for this. It brings to the fore the rational or the logical side of the business transaction and helps exercise the much needed restraint in communication. Through conscious efforts, one learns to talk to oneself so as to bring out positive response.
Example:
Praying can be Intrapersonal communication because when we pray we talk to ourselves we don't hear voices coming from nowhere but only us. So as the meaning of Intrapersonal communication is that we communicate with ourselves whether we are talking to ourselves aloud or in the privacy of our own brain.
Examples of intrapersonal skills include attributes such as planfulness, self-discipline, delay of gratification, the ability to deal with and overcome distractions, and the ability to adjust one's strategy or approach as needed.
